Since the district is mountainous, it has umpteen number of trekking routes which pass through places with unbelievable captivating scenic beauty.

A range of trekking options is available here. Summer is the season when all trekking routes are open while some are open in winter too. There are excellent camping sites also enroute.The Sundarani- Jungal Gali-Jasarkote-Sanasar route in Jangal Gali area lets you choose any of three exciting treks. It is about four days trek from Doda to Anantnag via Bharath, passes from green lovely valleys

Is a four day trek covering 41 kms. Taking off from Kishtwar, it ends at Daksum a beautiful site in the Anantnag district of Kashmir Valley. The trek moves from Kishtwar to Mughal Maidan (8kms), Mughal Maidan to Chhatroo (9Kms) Chahatroo to Sinthan Pass (8 kms) and from Sinthan Pass to Daksum (16 kms).

Is a seven days trek. Every stretch of it as indicated below is covered in a day. It passes through an altitude of 17,000 feet at Bhuswas Kishtwar-Shasho, Shasho-Atholi, Atholi-Matsal, Mastal-Bhuswas, Bhuswas Ratrat, Ratrat-Ating and Ating-Padam

Is a 3 day trek covering 60 kms. Kishtwar to Bhandar Kot (12 kms) then to Patninhal (15 kms), to Sounder (16 kms), to Sirshi (15 kms) and then to Henzil via Ramgal (12 kms).

This 43 Kms trek is from Kishtwar to Dool (4 kms) to Galhar (15 kms) to Shantoo (10 kms) to Atholi-Ishtyari (4 kms) to Dar wass (10 kms) to Killar.
